For May 2021, the club held the first official In-N-Out Burger Cruise In since February 2020. Over 117 cars parked with well over 175 people hanging out. The 50/50 OD brought the winner a nice chunk of change, and 2 participant’s cars were recognized as show favorites: (_____) and (____).

Poway Cruisers at 18^th Annual MNCC Run to the Hills

What a glorious day for a fun run and car show in the San Diego hills of east county. Once again Pine Valley with the help of the Monday Night Car Club put on a really enjoyable event. Weather could not have been more perfect, and the drive and company was first rate. A small group of 10 Poway Cruisers in 6 cars mustered in front of Abraxas High school at 7:00a and led by Bill & Peggy Troop, headed down Pomerado Road to start the drive. In the caravan were: Bill and Peggy Troop in their ’67 Mustang, Bill Avery driving his ’66 Ranchero, Sam and Brenda Grinceri in their stunning ’57 Oldsmobile 2dr HT, Jerry Badders and man’s best friend Murphy in his ’68 Chevelle SS, David & Sue Skaar in their ’69 Camaro, and George and Joyce Cowman in their ’37 Buick Special Coupe.

As the caravan made the turn on to CA-67 south we picked up Greg and Kaaren Thiem in their ’36 Ford Coupe, then further down the road as we made the turn onto I-8 East we picked up a friend of the Troop’s, Joe & Myrna McLaughlin in their ‘67 Mustang Fastback.

We arrived in Pine Valley a little before 8:00a to find the street already packed, but not quite full. We got parked toward the east end of the street, setup our bivouac, and settled in for the show. Walking the show we found a couple of other Poway Cruisers had made it earlier: Alex and JeanAnn Abosamra in their ’32 Ford Roadster, and Paul Rancour and his ’97 Dodge RAM. The group had some great snacks, Pine Valley eats, and bought raffle tickets, of which Brenda won a couple. We all called it a day and headed for home around 1:15p.
