July 2021

Dear Fellow Poway Cruisers,

Time for a mid-month update on what’s happening club wise.

We had a great get together again at the In-N-Out Burger Cruise In last Saturday. There were over 100 classics, hot rods/, and special vehicles in attendance, along with around 200+ car people. We also had a large number of spectators walk the event. As is the usual happening, Lana & Ed held the drawing for door prizes, and Ralph & Denice Garcia’s flamed ’32 Ford 3 window coupe, and Chuck Kramer’s ’32 Chevrolet 4dr Sedan where recognized as show favorites. Gerald DeSoto took home a really nice 50/50 OD. Here are a few pictures to wet your interest for the next event in September.

Hope to see you all next month!

As for what’s coming up, we have a couple of events that will be fun, both on the same weekend.

Friday evening, August 20th, from 4:00p to 8:00p, we’ll be enjoying Cruisin Grand in Escondido with the Heartbeat Classics Car Club, the featured club that evening. As when we were the featured club, we’ll have reserved parking on South Broadway. In addition to the usual event activities, the Heartbeat Classics are hosting a picnic dinner for their members and invited guests (us!). Our contribution is to bring something sweet to share, like cookies or cupcakes. We do need to let them know how many of us will attend, so please let me know ASAP if you plan to participate. So Far, I’ve only got a couple of cars confirmed.  It should be a very enjoyable evening.  Here’s a couple of pictures from our evening on July 2nd:

Then, on Sunday, August 22nd, from 10:00a to 3:00p we’ll be the host club for the Madam Mechanic Car Show, part of the Poway Community Fair. We’re hosting the show for Karen and Eldon Dunn, owners of Poway Transmission due to a conflict that requires Karen to be out of town at this time. We’ll be setup in the parking lot for the Poway Family Dental Group and California Coast Credit Union. While pre-registration is encouraged it is not required, and there is no registration fee.. We’ll start parking around 8:30a. We have room for 25-30 cars, and as of today I have 9 cars signed up. A People’s Choice Award will be presented around 2:30p. The community fair will have lots of food venders and other stuff. Should be a nice Sunday. Here’s a couple of pictures from the last event in 2019.

Hope everyone is having a smooth and cool summer, and hope to see you all at an event soon.
